What channel is Netherlands vs Qatar? Kick-off time, TV and live stream details

Netherlands can book their place in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup as Group A winners with a victory over Qatar on Tuesday.

The Oranje lead the way in their group alongside Ecuador following a 2-0 victory over Senegal and a 1-1 draw with the South American outfit in their first two games, but a win against Qatar in their final game would finally secure their progression to the knockout stages.

Nothing other than a win against Qatar is expected, who themselves are already out of the World Cup following two opening defeats. Failing to beat the Netherlands would make them the first host country to never win a group stage match.

When is Netherlands vs Qatar?

Netherlands vs Qatar will kick-off at 3pm (GMT) on Tuesday, November 29 at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides, which is in large part down to Qatar having never qualified for a previous World Cup.

The Netherlands have fared far better in their history, however, with 10 previous finals appearances. They have reached the final on three occasions (1974, 1978, 2010), but finished as runners-up in all of them.

Team news

With the Netherlands’ place in the last 16 not yet officially secured, Louis van Gaal will be expected to name his strongest side in order to get the job done against a poor Qatar team, in which he could name the same starting lineup for a second consecutive game.

Jurrien Timber, Teun Koopmeiners and Davy Klaassen were all brought in for Matthijs de Ligt, Steven Berghuis and Vincent Janssen against Ecuador and will hope to keep their places, although Memphis Depay and Marten de Roon will be pushing for their own starts after coming off the bench in both fixtures so far.

As for Qatar, a disastrous World Cup debut campaign has seen them eliminated before their final group stage match and they will now simply be playing for pride against what is arguably the toughest opposition in the group.

However, the very real prospect of being on the receiving end of a hammering could force Felix Sanchez to stick with a similar side from the first two games. Goalkeeper Meshaal Barsham, Ismail Mohamad and Assim Madibo will hope to keep their places, while striker Mohammed Muntari will push for a starting spot after scoring against Senegal off the bench.
