As if you do so, you're actually costing yourself more money.
The energy experts on the Cost of Living Crisis TikTok page shared a video explaining the reasons for this, as they wrote: "Don't put your milk on the fridge door like this.
"When you open the fridge door, it pulls away from the cool air - effecting the freshness."
Instead, you should "put it at the back of the fridge to make it last longer".
"Saving you money," they concluded.
"But the door is open for like 2 seconds, maybe 10 depending on what you go in for but usually it’s shut straight away," one person argued in the comments section.
To which the posters replied: "Yes and how many times do you open it a day? It adds up."
While another joked: "It does actually work.
"I put ours behind the sprouts and the kids can't find it so it lasts a lot longer."
"I’ve just had to pour half of one of them away as it had gone off before the bbf date," someone else commented.
"Have you ever had milk in your fridge that’s still in date and it’s gone off?
"Now you know," the energy experts added.
