A US judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia’s crown prince over the killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
US District Judge John Bates expressed unease over the matter. However, the Biden administration had told the DC District Court that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whose title is prime minister, is ‘entitled to head of state immunity’.
‘Despite the Court’s uneasiness, then, with both the circumstances of bin Salman’s appointment and the credible allegations of his involvement in Khashoggi’s murder, the United States has informed the Court that he is immune,’ the filing on Tuesday states.
