The Scottish SPCA is seeking information after an abandoned male black cat was found in a rucksack in East Kilbride.
A Scottish animal welfare charity was alerted to the incident after a member of the public found the cat in the Murray region on August 9.
Her SPCA inspector in Scotland, Dawn Murray, said: Black, male, domestic short-haired breed.

Carrying a black Reebok rucksack on the path between Galt Place and Murray Hill.
"The civilians who found him took him home to keep him safe while they waited for our help.
"Unfortunately, He was not microchipped and was not wearing a collar when found.
"He appeared healthy, was very friendly and showed affection to the staff.
"If anyone recognizes this cat, please contact the confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999."
