A small plane crashed onto a highway inCalifornia, causing a major traffic problem after it burst into flames, according to the
authorities.
A single-engine Cessna plane made an emergency landing on Highway 91 in Corona, California on Tuesday afternoon.
Both the pilot and passengers aboard the plane escaped safely, according to the Corona Fire Department.
After landing, the plane caught fire and was extinguished by firefighters.
It is unclear if the plane hit a vehicle that had been stuck in traffic for miles as it landed on a busy Riverside County highway.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
At least two of the right lanes of the freeway were closed, and a ramp on Lincoln He Avenue to the east of the freeway was closed by Corona police.
