Sheridan Smith looks radiant in floral dress at Sky Up Next event

A CLASS OF SHERI

SHERIDAN Smith comes up roses in a floral frock.

The Cilla actress posed on the red carpet at Sky’s Up Next event at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

Sheridan, 40, was joined by a slew of fellow screen stars at the bash – including Game Of Thrones actress Rose Leslie and Bond actress Gemma Arterton.

It’s been a rough few weeks for Sheridan after her trailer on the set of new show, Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything, was targeted by thieves who stole her jewellery.

The TV actress, 40, was said to be “very upset” by the loss of the items, believed to be worth several thousand pounds.

She is thought to have been targeted by a gang of thieves nicknamed the Movie Takers — who have carried out raids on big-budget film and TV projects.

Police were called on Thursday night after Sheridan’s trailer on the set of new Sky show Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything was ransacked in South West London.

A filming insider said: “This was a very upsetting incident and everyone involved is shocked — but Sheridan is understandably very hurt.

“Fortunately, it wasn’t hugely expensive items, more day-to-day things, but she had left them in her trailer for safety while filming in character and came back to find the place had been turned over.

“It’s absolutely disgraceful that these people would do this.”

The source added that film crews have become increasingly suspicious after incidents on other sets — including a recent high-profile theft of pricey props on the set of Netflix blockbuster The Crown.

In the new show, Sheridan has the lead role as Rosie — an anxiety and depression sufferer trying to free herself of booze, drug and sex addictions.

A workaholic with a senior career in an accountancy firm, Rosie is seen striving to recover from a spiral of self-destruction brought about by her relentless over-achieving and high-stress workload.

The series is expected to hit screens in the latter part of this year.
