Scottish charity seeks volunteers to help the elderly

Age Scotland is calling for more volunteers to join the Friendship and Helpline team and make a big difference in the lives of older people.

That survey found that 218,000 people in Scotland over the age of 50 said they felt lonely all the time, or almost all the time.

This charity seeks to tackle loneliness and social isolation on a practical level through its soon-to-reopen community connecting service, and needs the help of its citizens.

“There are home and office volunteering opportunities. Typically, all you need to volunteer from home is internet access, a laptop/tablet or computer, headphones, and a mobile phone.
