Portsmouth dog attack: 34-year-old man dies after being attacked by 'dangerous' animal in park

A 34-year-old man died after being attacked by a dog in a park in Portsmouth.

The attack occurred on his recreational grounds shortly before 10:30 am on Wednesday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead in the park.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being a dog owner.

Police are investigating the attack.

The police statement added: An old man from Faleham has been arrested on suspicion of being the owner/responsible of a dog that ran dangerously out of control, causing injury and death.

According to The Sun, the dog was secured and removed from the scene.

The man's family has been informed and it is understood.
