More MPs publicly support Liz Truss becoming prime minister than Rishi Sunak, a major blow to underdog campaigns

More MPs endorse Liz Truss as next Prime Minister than Rishi Snak for the first time in the Conservative leadership race.

The Foreign Minister has a fan base of 136 members of parliament and the former prime minister has the support of 124 of his members.

His MP supporters with the mostin his second-to-last knockout stage of the race.

He held that lead for weeks and finally finished today.

Among the notable supporters of Mr Truss {3​​0} were Secretary of Commerce Kwasi KwartenPrime Minister Nadim ZahawySecretary of Defense Ben Wallace and Therese Coffey, Secretary of Work and Pensions.

Mr. Sunak's most prominent supporters include Deputy Prime Minister Dominic RaabSecretary of Transportation Grant ShapsSecretary of the Environment George Eustice , Dowden, which includes former party leader Oliver.

With less than three weeks to go until the results are out, the former president is struggling to build and even maintain momentum.

The underdogs were hit hard this week when Alan Cairns became his third Tory MP to defect from the camp to Team His Truss.

The former minister was replaced first by Chris Skidmore, followed by heavyweight Welsh secretary Robert Buckland.

Mr Bucklund said of his own conversion:

"It's not easy to change your mind on an issue like this, but I decided Liz Truss was the right person to move the country forward.

} A new poll released today by the Conservative Home shows Mr Truss ahead of his rivals by 32 points.

Mr Sunak has vowed to fight for the last vote until the contest ends.  

Underdogs this morning accused Mr. Truss of evading scrutiny by refusing to give a one-on-one media interview.

So far, The former prime minister has been heavily criticized by veteran broadcasters Andrew Neal, Andrew Marr and Nick Robinson.

Tomorrow he will be interviewed this morning by Rochelle Humes and Andy Peters.

Mr Snack said, "I believe my plan is correct and I am not afraid of scrutiny."
