Kardashians’ most tone-deaf moments as Kim’s slammed for flashy festive tradition – including ‘forgetting $1.6m home’

THEY'RE a filthy-rich family worth nearly $2billion, so it's hardly surprising the Kardashians are sometimes accused of being 'out of touch'.

Some fans have gone so far as to accuse the wealthy clan of being tone deaf - with Kim Kardashian, 42, the latest to be slammed after revealing one of her Christmas 'traditions'.

The reality star took to her Instagram stories to share a photo of a pianist playing in her living room.

It was captioned: "It's that time of the year... @philthekeys comes over every morning to wake my kids up by playing the piano while the mad morning rush is happening to calm their little souls and fill it with beautiful Christmas songs."

It's not the first time - and no doubt won't be the last - the Kardashian family, including youngest half siblings Kylie and Kendall Jenner, have come under fire for bragging about their privileged lives, as we reveal...

'Get your f*****g a** up & work'

Earlier this year Kim was slammed when she gave some pretty harsh career advice.

Speaking to Variety, she said: “I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f*****g a** up and work... It seems like nobody wants to work these days."

She added: "I also feel like if people understood, that like yeah we grew up privileged and people don’t know the story of your [Kendall’s] dad [Caitlyn Jenner] and mom having to sell their house in the Hills because they couldn’t afford it and they had to move to an apartment."

She tweeted: "I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success / work ethic." Ouch.

'Forgotten' $1.6m condo

Few Kardashian fans can forget the gobsmacking moment momager Kris Jenner confessed she 'forgot' she owned a $1.6m Beverley Hills condo.

In a confessional, Kris laughed: "I have a condo and my mom has one and my cousin has one and we all live nearby, but I kind of forgot it was there. Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?"

Kris is joined at the home by daughter Khloe, who jokes: "I hope to be rich enough someday to forget I own a property."

The pair later discovered that the fridge in said property was fully stocked - with Dom Perignon Champagne.

Kim's Covid party

Kim was slammed for bragging about her "conspicuous display of wealth" while on a luxurious 40th birthday tropical getaway - during lockdown in 2020.

While most people were unable to see their loved ones, the birthday girl boasted about how "privileged" she was in a series of family photos from a private island, admitting: "I realise for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now."

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star wrote she felt "so humbled and blessed" and had been reminded of the "things that truly matter."

She added: "Before Covid, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment.

"After two weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time." Alright for some!

Pricey 15 minute private jet trip

It's no secret and hardly surprising that the family travel in style with a fleet of private jets - however some trips have sparked outrage.

For example, according to flight tracking websites, Kylie flew on her $72million dollar plane from Camarillo to Van Nuys, a journey which is under an hour to drive.

That's a distance of just 45 miles and a flight time of under 15 minutes.

It's also a total of 127 gallons of jet fuel used, and a full ton of CO2 emissions.

The star also recently received backlash after travelling to the same location as Travis Scott - in separate private jets.

THAT Pepsi advert

Model Kendall, 27, came under fire in 2017 for the £40m Pepsi advert she starred in, which was dubbed tasteless and tone deaf for seemingly piggybacking on the Black Lives Matter movement.

The commercial saw the model use a can of Pepsi to end a stand-off between police and a group of young protesters of all races.

The ad was swiftly pulled, with the company saying: "Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding.

"Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologise."

Controversial diet drink 'easy work'

The family owe a significant chunk of their wealth to launching their own products, but they also make a lot of money endorsing other brands too.

Some of these have proven more controversial than others, with Kim and Khloe opting to promote controversial weight loss and detox teas and shakes.

In a bid to justify the move Kim said: "If there is work that is really easy that doesn’t take away from our kids, that’s like a huge priority, if someone was faced with the same job opportunities, I think they would maybe consider.

"You’re going to get backlash for almost everything so as long as you like it or believe in it or it’s worth it financially, whatever your decision may be, as long as you’re OK with that."

'Vote Kanye'

During the 2020 election campaign Kourtney Kardashian appeared to urge her fans and followers to vote for Kim's now ex-husband Kanye West.

The star wore a baseball cap with a 'Vote Kanye' motif, and even linked to his Kanye 2020 website, with fans quick to brand the move 'irresponsible' on Twitter.
