Jürgen Klopp admits Liverpool fitness has doubled, but admits worries about Thiago layoff

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that the team will be strengthened with the return of Kostas Tsimikas and Naby Keita.Thiago is concerned that Alcantara may result in a longer layoff than he would like.

Thiago was forced off five minutes into the second half as Liverpool drew with newly promoted Fulham on the opening day of thePremier League season. The Reds will host Crystal Palace on Monday and some of Klopp's squad are starting to look skinny.

It was a far from ideal situation, with Klopp looking to lead the team in another title challenge. However, the German will receive a double injury boost ahead of the match against Palace.

One of these boosts comes in the form of Keita returning to training this week. The midfielder missed the match against Fulham after collapsing with a non-coronavirus illness, but has now recovered and is in the squad for the game against Palace.

The news was confirmed by Klopp during Friday's pre-match press conference. Keita's return was a big boost given that Thiago was expected to be out for a long period of time. The Reds manager also revealed that Timikas could return to training after recovering from a knee injury sustained during preseason.

"I'm happy with the strength and quality of the team. But we've had injuries. The problem is how far away the players are, and there are different solutions. One. is the transfer market. But it only makes sense if you're the right player," said Klopp.

"If we saw the right players, given the opportunity, we would have done it and would have done it. We had a lot of conversations."

"So I don't think.Other solutions are within the team. It's clear that there are too many injuries.Keita is back and Tsimikas may train today.Thiago is good but the injury is not No... read for 4-6 weeks, preferably 4!"

Klopp wants reaction from his side after slamming performance at Craven Cottage is. Palace go into the match after losing to Arsenal, but Klopp insists Patrick he is ready to face Vieira's team.

"With my English ability, I don't know if my 'attitude' was correct, but I got off to a slow start. I didn't like the start at all. But that's another thing. When I wanted to fight back, I was already giving Fulham some of the momentum, but it was absolutely unnecessary. I'm trying to make sure I'm ready for it, more often than not I'm ready and that's what I need again and nothing else. Just because it's slow doesn't mean you have to start over, or you'll never do it again, but that's a sign - use it as information, change it, and go from there."
