An 80-year-old woman today appeared in court charged with stealing coins from an arcade machine.

Betty Tann appeared via video link at Hull Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Tann is accused of stealing a quantity of coins of an unknown value from The Forum Arcade in Bridlington, on August 15 this year.

She is also charged in relation to having "assorted keys" to carry out the theft that day.

The 80-year-old pleaded not guilty to theft from a meter/automatic machine and going equipped for theft.

A trial date is scheduled to take place at Bridlington Magistrates' Court on February 14, 2022.

Tann, of Arbour Crescent, Thurcroft, Rotherham, was granted unconditional bail.

"Miss Tann will be expected to attend all future hearings in person," said District Judge Zoe Passfield.
