Why is Italian Latin Champion and pro Graziano Di Prima not in the main line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2020?

GRAZIANO Di Prima launched to fame when he landed the job of one of the professional dancers on Strictly.

But before he joined the show, he'd already made a name for himself in the world of Italian Latin dance.

Who is Graziano Di Prima?

The Sicilian-born professional dancer, 26, is an Italian Latin Champion.

He represented Belgium at the World Championships, and made the top 24 at the Latin World Championship Under 21s.

Since 2016, Graziano has toured the world with the dance company Burn The Floor, a “high-voltage theatrical dance experience”.

He proposed to his girlfriend and fellow dancer, Gianda Lini, live on stage in May 2019.

Why is Graziano Di Prima not in the main line-up for Strictly 2020?

Graziano doesn't have a celebrity partner for Strictly 2020.

But this doesn't mean you won't see him.

He will be part of the professionals dance routine which takes place every Saturday and Sunday.

No reason has been given for him not making the main line-up, but he is not the only one without a partner, as Neil Jones also doesn't.

Has Graziano Di Prima had a partner on Strictly Come Dancing?

Graziano was paired with radio DJ Vick Hope on the 2018 series.

They bowed out after five weeks on the show, losing in a dance-off to comedian Seann Walsh and his partner Katya Jones.

Before taking part in the show in 2018 he said: “This is my dream come true!”

“I still can’t believe I will be one of the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing. I can’t wait to give all of myself on the dance floor!”

What time is Strictly Come Dancing 2020 on?

The Strictly live shows return this Saturday (October 24, 2020).

You can catch it from 7.25pm on BBC One.

You can watch any episodes you miss on the BBC iPlayer.
