Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, has been maintaining a low profile since distancing herself from the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

However, the 70-year-old has thrust herself into the limelight once more now that she is taking part in I’m A Celebrity.

When asked by The Sun Online about heading into the jungle, she stayed mum about what viewers could expect.

Then as she was wished good luck on the show, she replied: "Thank you. I don't know how it works."

But Caitlyn has previously been in the jungle in the US version back in 2003 - so she knows more than she's letting on.

Her appearance came before her gender transition journey which began in 2015.

The Sun exclusively revealed the former athlete would be heading to Australia on November 1, 2019, having bagged one of the biggest fees in the show's 19-year history.

ITV bosses have reportedly forked out more for Caitlyn, the world’s most famous transgender woman, than anyone else this year — topping £500,000.

An ITV source said: “She’s such a huge name and a great get for producers. ITV think she is one of their best ever signings. It’s a real bolt from the blue. They’ve asked her every year for a long time, but she finally felt the time was right.”

The salary will certainly bump up her whopping $100 million fortune (£77.9million), which Celebrity Net Worth reported.

Her earnings have come from a range of careers, including as an athlete, a starring role in Keeping Up with the Kardashians and I Am Cait, as well as the sales of her 2017 memoir, The Secrets of My Life.

When did Caitlyn Jenner transition?

Caitlyn had gender reassignment surgery in January 2017, however she chose not to tell the Kardashian family about it.

In her memoir The Secrets of My Life, she wrote: “The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated.”

She announced she will no longer be known as Bruce Jenner in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2015.

Her June 2015 Vanity Fair cover was released with the tagline: "Call Me Caitlyn", revealing her new name and image from Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner.

When did Caitlyn Jenner split from Kris Jenner?

Caitlyn and Kris Jenner were married for 23 years and share two children together - Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

However, they announced their separation in October 2019.

Kris, 64, filed for divorce in September 2014, citing irreconcilable differences and by December that year the divorce was finalised.

The pair tied the knot in 1991 after only five months of dating, they were introduced by a mutual friend, who set them up on a blind date in 1990.
