DEADWATER Fell has got viewers hooked with its epic story about a mother and her children wiped out in a house fire.
Despite the tragic tale, the show is set behind an idyllic Scottish background.
Where is Deadwater Fell filmed?
Dunlop and Kilbarchan
The small Scottish village of Kirkdarroch which is rocked by the tragedy is actually fictional.
However, A lot of the filming took place in the East Ayrshire villages of Dunlop and Kilbarchan in Renfrewshire.
Both villages are less than a half hour drive from the major city of Glasgow, but due to their location in the sprawling Scottish countryside they appear quite remote in the new series.
Several of the locals ended up appearing on the show as extras, including at the party scene in the first episode which features a local Ceilidh band.
Culzean Country Park and Culzean Beach
An interesting scene in the first episode of takes place on a beach, as a family day out turns into an arguement and sees Kate storm off home with her children, and best friend Jess in tow.
This filming took place on Culzean Beach, located within Culzean Country Park in Ayrshire, a little over an hour away from the villages of Kilbarchan and Dunlop.
The beach is also home to Culzean Castle which was constructed in the late 1700s and appears in the classic 1973 horror film The Wicker Man.
