Many people may still be wondering when is Black Friday 2019 in the UK and the good news is there isn't long to wait.
In recent years, the UK has adopted the American shopping tradition of Black Friday and made it our own.
This year a number of retailers have already confirmed they will take part, including Zara, Amazon, B&M, Argos and more.
The big sales operate similar to Boxing Day, where retailers roll out a sale to bring in customers - though Black Friday deals often run for more than just one day.
This year retailers have released deals up to two weeks early, with Amazon and Argos among the first to drop prices.
If you’re still unsure about Black Friday, we’ve created a guide below to tell you everything you’ll need to know.
The most important question is When is Black Friday 2019 in the UK? This year it falls on Friday, November 29, which thankfully now is just one day away.
Why is it called Black Friday and when is it?
Black Friday originated in America and was the name given to the big shopping day after Thanksgiving. It's thought that the phrase was coined because of the chaos that surrounded the day, with shoppers fighting over the biggest deals, and huge amounts of traffic in retail areas.
Black Friday is a now day when retailers offer discounts or deals across their stock here in the UK too. Black Friday officially takes place this year on Friday, November 29, 2019.
Already this year Amazon has dropped prices on Apple Airpods, Amazon Echo Plus, and iPads.
Black Friday has grown in popularity since it began to appear in the UK in 2010, and has been a major shopping event since 2014, overtaking Cyber Monday.
Which stores will be taking part?
Retailers tend to keep tight-lipped when it comes to announcing Black Friday deals, though many have already revealed they will take part this year.
Among those already announced are Amazon, Currys PC World, John Lewis, Smyths, Adidas, Argos, and Costco.
Also taking part this year are TK Maxx, B&M, ASOS, Build-a-Bear, Boots, Mothercare, Zara, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
Which products will be reduced?
Depending on the retailer shoppers have the chance of getting huge discounts on everything from clothing and toys to televisions, electricals and home furnishings.
This year Lidl is offering an Xbox One S All Digital Edition with three games for £129, while Amazon is selling a 50-inch Samsung TV for £458, down from £629.99.
What is Cyber Monday 2019 and when is it?
Cyber Monday falls on the Monday following Black Friday, falling this year on Monday, December 2.
It was previously known as the day when online retailers would release their equivalent of Black Friday deals.
Now, given how many retailers offer deals both in store and online, it is considered to be an extension of Black Friday.
