It has been quite a day for Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer.
After stepping off the bench in the closing stages of City's 2-0 win over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the 19-year-old then made the short hop across to the Manchester City Academy Stadium for the Elite Development Squad's Premier League 2 tussle with Leicester City.
Palmer, who starred for England's Under-21s over the international break, showed no signs of tiredness after a whirlwind day, scoring twice in the opening 45 minutes to put Brian Barry-Murphy's side in complete control by the half time interval.
Palmer, who has a very bright future ahead of himself, put City's youngsters 1-0 up with a crisp strike, before netting a second with a cool and composed finish just inside the penalty area.
Given that he had played for the first-team, albeit for a just a minute, earlier in the day, Palmer's heroics for the Elite Development Squad attracted plenty of reaction on social media.
It came as a result of City's official Twitter account posting two images of Palmer - one of him on the touchline in discussion with Pep Guardiola ahead of him stepping off the bench against Burnley and the other of him in action in the Premier League 2 - and the caption: 'When you've got a first team game at 3pm and an EDS game at 7:30pm'.
Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some City supporters have had to say in response to the youngster's memorable Saturday.
As you can see from the responses above, there has been a real mixed bag of messages posted about Palmer, all with different shades of meanings, featuring light-hearted humour and general praise for the youngster.
