Wales' health minister Eluned Morgan will give an update today about the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

She will be joined at the press conference, which starts at 12.15pm, by Dr Gillian Richardson, who is Wales' deputy chief medical officer with responsibility for vaccines. Live updates here.

A windy and largely cloudy day today. There will be outbreaks of patchy rain, mainly over high ground before a band of heavier and more persistent rain arrives this evening. Feeling milder than recent days. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outbreaks of persistent and heavy rain will push south-eastwards across the country this evening, with clearer more showery weather arriving overnight. Winds strengthening too. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
