Vikings star Katheryn Winnick shows off slender figure as she steps behind the camera for season 6

VIKINGS star Katheryn Winnick is switching to the other side of the camera.

The actress, who plays the fierce, feminist character in the TV show, has also been taking on directorial duties in season six.

She is stepping behind it as she makes her directorial debut on the swords and shields drama.

The actress, 42, will helm an episode called Valhalla Can Wait in the latest series of the Amazon Prime hit.

The Canadian, who plays Lagertha, was seen on set in a wide-brimmed black hat.

She said she was “honoured to get behind the lens”.

Last year, there was vague speculation she may not survive the full length of the last series.

Netflix has ordered a spin-off Vikings: Valhalla series set 100 years after the bloody events of the original drama.

The streaming giant wants to carry on the success of the popular History channel drama with Valhalla, with Die Hard and The Fugitive writer Jeb Stuart acting as showrunner.
