A man was rushed to hospital with a serious head wound after being attacked by a gang of three men at his Angus home.

The 46-year-old was viciously assaulted at an address on Croft Terrace in Kirriemuir in the early hours of Friday morning.

The suspects smashed windows at the property before turning their attention to their victim at around 1.50am.

He was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment with investigators issuing an appeal for help to find the culprits.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Martin, of Dundee CID, said: “A man has sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident and we are appealing for the public’s help to trace those responsible.

“Although this happened in the early hours of the morning, I would ask if you were in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to get in contact with police.

“I would also ask if anyone has any CCTV or dashcam footage of the area to come forward and speak to officers.”
