Police in Burnley are appealing for information and witnesses after two incidents in the town last night (June 2).

The first was at around 10.45pm where it is believed that a man with a weapon damaged a vehicle at the junction of Harold Avenue and Rossendale Road after an 'incident' between two cars.

One hour later there was a second disorder on Venice Avenue when a male pulled a weapon. One man has now been arrested in relation to this and is in police custody.

A spokesperson for police said: "If anyone has witnessed these incidents then we would urge you to get in touch.

"Likewise, if anyone lives in that area, please check any CCTV cameras, dashcams or any mobile phone footage they may have obtained. Please contact 101 and quote log reference number LC-20200602-1638. Thank you for your assistance."
