Liverpool have officially completed the signing of defender Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos.
The 24-year-old has penned a long-term contract with the Reds, and will provide competition at left-back with Andy Robertson.
Liverpool had drawn up a four-man shortlist that included Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly and Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon, but moved quickly for Tsimikas after two bids were rejected by Norwich for Jamal Lewis on Thursday.
An opening gambit of £10million was firmly rebuffed by the Canaries before thoughts turned to Tsimikas after a second offer of £12m was turned away.
The Greece international had his medical on Merseyside today, and has now officially been unveiled as a Liverpool player.
Tsimikas becomes Jurgen Klopp’s first signing this summer, as well as the club’s first since becoming Premier League champions.
The full-back has already expressed his delight and pride at completing his move to Anfield, and is looking forward to his time on Merseyside.
“We are Liverpool,” wrote Tsimikas on Instagram, along with the ‘heart eyes’ emoji.
He added: “What an honour to be joining this team. Can’t wait to meet you all and begin this new adventure! #YNWA”
