Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes tops the stat charts as Europe's most creative young player, but there are a host of others out there who don't rank too far behind the Sporting midfielder.

Fernandes has made 58 key passes — one that leads to a goalscoring opportunity — for his Sporting teammates in the league so far this season.

It's one of the reasons he has been touted for a transfer in two successive windows, with United registering an interest in the 25-year-old. MEN Sport understands, however, that the two clubs are currently apart in their valuation of the player and a deal isn't expected to happen imminently.

But there is no doubt Fernandes would improve on United's current creative options.

Those 58 key passes that Fernandes has played have come at the rate of one every 24.8 minutes, which is more regularly than any player aged 25 or under who has made more than 10 appearances in Europe’s top leagues outside of England - France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands and Spain, including Andreas Pereira.

Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig has a similarly good record to Fernandes.

Nkunku - who only joined the Leipzig from PSG this summer - has made 37 key passes at the rate of one every 25.2 minutes this season.

Staying in Germany, Bayer Leverkusen’s Nadiem Amiri has averaged one key pass every 28.7 minutes, as has Adama Traoré of French side Metz though he has just joined Al-Adalh on loan.

Lorenzo Pellegrini has made 42 key passes so far this season for Roma.

Those chances have come at the rate of one every 28.9 minutes.

Samu Castillejo as made a key pass once every 29.5 minutes for AC Milan, Mounir Chouiar has created one every 29.6 minutes for Dijon,

Steven Bergwijn has averaged one every 29.7 minutes for PSV, his teammate Cody Gakpo has averaged one every 29.8 minutes, and Josip Brekalo has averaged one every 29.9 minutes for Wolfsburg.
