Predatory paedophile and former care home owner John Allen committed obscene sexual offences against young boys and girls.
He ran several Bryn Allen community children's homes based in the Wrexham area and carried out an abuse of power which lasted 22 years, leaving his victims scarred for life.
There were more than 20 victims, as young as seven, who were raped, assaulted and beaten by Allen in the back of cars, in dorm rooms and out in the countryside on weekend breaks.
Described as one of the "most prolific child abusers of recent times", Allen first appeared in court in 1996 when he was jailed for six years but various inquiries and investigations revealed the extent of his offending went far beyond what was originally known, and he faced trial again in 2014 at Mold Crown Court where he was found guilty of 27 indecent assaults and jailed for life.
In 2020, he was convicted of a further eight counts of sexual assault against five boys, for which he was sentenced to 14-and-a-half years imprisonment.
Former boss of the Storey Arms outdoor activity centre Robert Pugh sexually abused young boys in the 1980s and 1990s.
The defendant, who met his victims while they were at school and were attending courses at the centre, denied abusing the boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
He was found guilty of 10 counts of indecent assault following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court, and was jailed for 30 months.
Publicity of the trial led to another victim coming forward in 2019 to detail abuse suffered at the hands of Pugh.
The paedophile, of Plasturton Avenue, in Cardiff, pleaded guilty to another count of indecent assault and was jailed for a further six months.
Paedophile Michael Whilding, 65, sexually abused a girl over a period of eight years which started when she was just six-years-old.
The defendant, of Mallory Close, St Athan, was convicted of 35 counts including two counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape indecent assault and indecency with a child following a trial, counts which he denied.
Some of theses charges related to a second victim who Whilding exposed his penis to and told her to life her skirt so he could "look at her".
He repeatedly warned the victim against reporting anything by telling her "what would happen if she did so".
Whilding was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment with a further licence period of a year, at Cardiff Crown Court.
Simon Porritt subjected two girls to horrific abuse and was caught after a manhunt which lasted 20 years.
The 70-year-old's offences came to light after his victims bravely came forward and police forces united to bring him to justice.
The defendant abused his first victim - a Newcastle schoolgirl - in the 1980s, before he moved to south Wales and abused his second victim in the 1990s, when he used a different name.
He was traced after Northumbria Police discovered he had registered a car in his own name in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, and he was arrested by officers from Gloucestershire Police.
Porritt was jailed for nine years following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court.

The 65-year-old also threatened to kill his victim, who was only nine years old when the abuse started.
The defendant also indecently assaulted four other girls aged 16 and younger on occasions spanning almost a decade.
This included adding drugs to one girl's drink before assaulting her, abusing her while she wore her school uniform, repeatedly raping her, and explaining his behaviour as a "life lesson".
Sullivan, of Ramsey Road, Barry, was given an extended sentence of 26 years, at Cardiff Crown Court.

The "twisted individual" started the abuse when his victim was aged just four or five, and continued until she was in her teens.
The 54-year-old defendant subjected the girl a repeated rapes and assaults. Some of the offending happened more than 20 years but the abuse was not reported to the police at the time.
He was sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison, with an extended one year licence period, at Swansea Crown Court.
Paedophile Terence Burnett asked a child to touch his penis with her foot and was performing a sex act.
"You asked her to touch your penis – she was scared," Judge Christopher Vosper QC said. "She remembers you told her if she touched it with her foot it would be less scary for her. That's what she did."
During an statement read in court the adult victim, who has automatic lifelong anonymity, said she now suffers mental health issues as a result of the incident which took place when she was a child.
Burnett, 62, of Glanffornwg, Wildmill, Bridgend, denied the offence but was found guilty of inciting a girl under the age of 14 to commit an act of gross indecency following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court.
He was jailed for 18 months.
Sex offender Yossa Maunders committed a campaign of abuse and rapes against a young boy 30 years ago.
The defendant - also known as Andrew Yorath - bribed and groomed his victim, and threatened him into silence during "systematic" offending during the late 1980s.
The victim kept his experiences bottled up inside until a nervous breakdown in 2019 after which he went to the police.
In the years following his abuse of the boy Maunders went on to commit further sexual offences, and in 2006 was given an extended sentence as a dangerous offender for abusing a five-year-old boy.

The offending happened over a seven-year period between the late 1990s and the middle of the 2000s at a number of locations in south Wales.
He intimidated one of his victims into silence by warning her that if she ever told anyone what was happening she wouldn't see her family again.
