The Chase viewers couldn't believe it when ageless beauty Helen appeared on the show and revealed her real age to host Bradley Walsh.

The ITV show welcome four new contestants on Monday, with the Chaser Mark Labbett aka The Beast in the hot sea, trying to prevent the hopefuls from pocketing the grand cash prize.

Smit, Peter, Lexi and Helen answered quick fire questions on the cash builder, taking it in turns to answer general knowledge questions.

Later, then each went head-to-head with The Beast himself to test who had the best general knowledge and quickest reactions.

Host Bradley Walsh was surprised

Bradley chatted to the contestants, which is when he asked Helen her age.

The glamorous blonde revealed she was 70, leaving both viewers, and The Beast, astonished.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their surprise, with one writing: `"Helen does look good for 70 though".

"Helen doesnt look 70 fact," wrote another.

" #thechase did I hear right aged 70," questioned a third.

The Beast told Helen: "You look good for your age!"

He also joked: "Bradley looks like he could be your father!"

Helen raised the cash prize fund up to £14,000, and and got through her head-to-head round.

She took part in the final chase alongside Pete and Lexi, as Amit was beaten by The Beast in his challenge.

But sadly, The chaser beat the group and they were all sent home empty-handed.

Mark doesn't appear pleased with the news that a new chaser will be joining the cast

The Beast recently said he finds it hard to land TV work because he’s a white, middle-aged man.

He admitted that there are too many quiz presenters in his demographic, and even might be forced to return to teaching instead of working for the ITV show.

Speaking to The Sun, the former maths teacher pointed out that he’s less likely to land further TV roles as opposed to co-hosts.

“I’ve got a slight disadvantage because TV has too many white middle-aged quiz presenters” he told the publication.

Mark has been considering his career choices after the ITV show announced last year that another ‘chaser’ would be joining the cast.

For now The Beast stars alongside Jenny Ryan (The Vixen), Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman), Anne Hegerty (The Governness) and Shawn Wallace (The Dark Destroyer) but news of another addition means that they will receive less money.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
