A 17-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in a Scots town as police appeal for information.
The incident occurred at some point between 2.40am and 3.30am on Saturday, 27 November in Paisley.
The attack happened in the George Place, Browns Lane and Shuttle Street area of the town, according to Police Scotland.
The force said that CCTV footage indicates that there were a number of pedestrians at the time of the assault.
It is believed that several people came to the distressed 17-year-old's assistance who left before speaking with officers.
Police Scotland are now appealing for them and any other witnesses or anyone else with information to come forward.
They are also asking for anyone who may have private CCTC or dash cam footage to get in touch with them.
Detective Inspector Colin MacRitchie said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of this incident and our initial enquiries with CCTV provide that the area was busy with pedestrians around this time.
“It is believed several members of the public may have come to the assistance of a distressed young woman in that area of Paisley town centre who then left before speaking with officers.
“If this was you then please come forward as you may have information which could help our enquiries.
“We are also keen to trace any witnesses or persons with information as to the incident or who may have private CCTV or dash cam footage.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing, including door to door enquiries and further study of the available CCTV footage.”
Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0685 of 27 November, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
