Teacher faces sack after ‘setting pupil homework to break up with her boyfriend’

A TEACHER told a pupil that her homework was to break up with her boyfriend, a panel heard.

James Hume even offered to write a script for her, she claimed.

But the ICT teacher denied there was any sexual motivation, insisting: “It was a joke.”

However, another girl pupil claimed that he massaged her shoulders and rubbed the bra strap area of her back.

She said he also placed his hand over hers while she was using a computer mouse. But he denies her claims saying he touched her only as a gesture of support.

Married Hume faces allegations of unacceptable professional conduct at Cowbridge comprehensive near Cardiff.

He taught pupils up to the age of 16 for eight years — but has now left the profession.

The Education Workforce Council hearing in the city continues.
