STRICTLY heartthrob HRVY got plenty of love from young viewers as he waltzed his way into the final of the BBC series in December.
But the singer is now being bombarded with messages from randy pensioners after also gaining older fans thanks to the tight costumes he wore while dancing with pro partner Janette Manrara.
Asked if he has had mums sliding into his in-box, he said: “MILFs? Do you know what, I think it’s NILFs actually. There’s a lot of nans in my DMs.”
“In restaurants, when I take my mask off and sit down, I have quite a few nans and older people come up and say, ‘We watched you on the show, you did really well’, that’s really nice.”
Despite there being no shortage of offers, Hrvy, real name Harvey Cantwell, is still single and has confirmed he isn’t pursuing a relationship with his Strictly co-star, actress Maisie Smith.
Rumours swirled that they were far more than friends as they grew close during the competition, but for the first time, Hrvy has admitted the thing with EastEnders star Maisie was a showmance.
In an exclusive interview, he confessed: “Nothing happened.
“It was funny to watch everyone talk about it. Sometimes we were like, ‘Shall we play up to it?’ We are really good friends and still speak.
“I thought she did great with all the pressure she was under as a lot of the public weren’t too kind to her at the beginning but it was cool to see her be strong. People changed their view on her.
“Everyone, especially at the moment, is saying, ‘You should be strong and confident’, but as soon as someone who is beautiful and confident and talented shows it and believes in it, they go, ‘That’s too cocky, you can’t do that’. It’s hard, but she did amazing.”
Strictly couldn’t have come at a better time for HRVY, as he had split from his record label Virgin EMI and binned off his debut album which he pulled just weeks before it was set for release.
But now he is back with a new sound on his current single 1 Day 2 Nights and is relieved that he never put out his axed record.
He has moved on to bigger and better things after signing a deal with BMG, the same record label as KSI and Kylie Minogue.
Hrvy, who yesterday released a The Wolf Of Wall Street-style video for his new single, said: “It’s weird because I’ve been doing this since I was pretty young, growing up in this industry and trying to find a box which I can wiggle myself in to.
“But this new music is very current and it’s the first time I feel like my music is competitive with things in the charts. I feel strong about this music and it’s very different.
“1 Day 2 Nights is very dancey. I remember going into the studio on that day and being like, ‘Guys, today I want to write a really nice, slow ballad.’ And I don’t think I’ve ever come out with anything more clubby and dancey in my life.”
On pulling his album, he added: “I’m so relieved because it’s so mad how quickly your mindset, look and sound changes. Looking back on that now, even seeing the artwork and the songs, it so wasn’t me at the time.
“I’m so glad it didn’t come out because the stuff I’ve got now and am about to release is so much better and a lot more me. So I’m very happy it didn’t happen.”
Having spent the past six months in the studio, that updated debut album shouldn’t be too far away.
Charlie belts out tunes
CHARLI XCX buckled up and belted out some tunes dressed in black leather at Los Angeles Pride.
The British pop star, who now lives in the American city, wore the bodiless PVC jacket with a red bra and matching pants for the event, which was live streamed on TikTok.
She has become quite a hit on the app after her 2017 song Unlock It went viral on the platform this year.
When Charli isn’t posting videos herself, she has been working on her fifth studio album, which follows 2019’s Charli and How I’m Feeling Now in 2020.
On top of that, she will be a guest judge on the upcoming series of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, which is already in the can.
Lockdown certainly hasn’t dulled her shine.
THEY hoped their new track for football’s Euros would reach a big crowd.
But Krept & Konan did better than that - OLE (We Are England 21) was played in the Three Lions dressing room ahead of the game against Croatia on Sunday.
Midfielder Declan Rice said of their song, which features upcoming British artist S1lva: “That was being played before the game. First game against Croatia, that was going on the playlist, on the speakers – bang.”
And given England won 1-0, it must have put the players in the right mood.
Krept and Konan filmed the process of writing and recording OLE for a documentary which is on BBC iPlayer now.
Sigrid is all fore it
SIGRID is back – with a new boyfriend as well as fresh music.
The Norwegian singer went Instagram-official with skier and filmmaker Nikolai Schirmer, posting this photo of him kissing her on the forehead.
Fans have long suspected a romantic connection as the pair have taken several trips together and also teamed up on a campaign for anoraks, of all things.
Sigrid confirmed it by adding a love heart next to his name on her post.
Nikolai replied with two further heart emojis.
Sigrid released Mirror, the first single from her currently untitled second album, in May.
She’s spent the past two years working on the follow-up to her 2019 debut Sucker Punch.
Judging by this show of affection, I expect plenty of schmaltzy love songs.
Leigh-Anne's bumpy ride
SHE says pregnancy is the hardest thing she’s done but Leigh-Anne Pinnock is making it look effortless.
The Little Mix singer showed off her baby bump in a bikini while making the most of the hot weather in her garden.
She told her Instagram followers: “Time to give my body some credit. This is the hardest thing I have ever done, I have struggled these past few weeks.
“Swollen hands and feet, bruised ribs and then chuck in a whole heap of hormones to the mix but then I think about what’s actually going on inside this belly and I’m mind blown.”
The fiance!é of Watford footballer Andre Gray added: “Creating life… I am so proud of how far I’ve come and so grateful for this blessing.”
Wanna knew Spice track?
NEXT month will mark 25 years since the Spice Girls released debut single Wannabe. And they are celebrating by releasing their first new song in 14 years.
An even bigger surprise is that Victoria Beckham will feature on it. The group, which also includes Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Melanie C, yesterday said they will be putting out a demo of a song called Feed Your Love, which they wrote and recorded in the same sessions as Wannabe.
A snippet leaked online five years ago but the track has never been heard in full. So this is massive news for Spice fans who had all but given up on the prospect of new music.
It will feature on a limited-edition EP called Wannabe25, available to stream from July 9 with a physical release on July 23. That includes the original version of Wannabe, a Junior Vasquez remix and the girls’ demo recording.
While Wannabe is an upbeat pop classic, Feed Your Love is described as a ballad – although it was apparently considered too racy to be released back in 1996. The last time they put out a song was Headlines (Friendship Never Ends), which was part of the Greatest Hits album marking their 2007 reunion.
This time they are plotting a social media campaign featuring fans’ memories of the group. They are urging followers to share their favourite tales, photos and videos of the band with the hashtag #IAmASpiceGirl.
Jack's Disney dream
JACK Whitehall could soon be treading the boards. The comedian has appeared in several films but is desperate for a turn in a musical, saying he has the voice to belt out big numbers.
He said: “I’ve got a dancer inside of me waiting to burst out. I’m always trying to dance around the stage. I want to be in musical theatre really, I’m just trapped in a comedian’s body. The musical theatre star sometimes tries to get out when I’m on stage.
“I love the idea of it, the showbiz glamour, big number, musical theatre, stage craft, dancing. I would probably go for something Disney. I love Disney. They’ve all really been done but we can do them again. Frozen?”
Saturday's Una has sun day
UNA Healy was black, white and red hot as she made the most of the scorching weekend temperatures.
The Saturdays singer hit Portmarnock Beach in Dublin and posed in this monochrome swimming costume for this snap shared on Instagram.
It racked up almost 20,000 likes on the social media site, with one follower writing: “Every lad’s on his way to Portmarnock now.”
That could be a novel way to find a new bloke though, after she told The Sun she is open to dating again following her split from professional hurler David Breen earlier this year. Una’s divorce from rugby union player Ben Foden was finalised in August, 2019.
It’s not all sun, sea and sand for Una though, as she has just released her new tune Song Of The Summer with Canadian singer-songwriter Tebey.
A title like that sets very high expectations.

The record is out on July 23 and she told Radio 1’s Out Of Sight Out Of Mind With Rickie, Melvin and Charlie: “I want to be that person who is honest about that stuff . . . I hope it just makes it a little bit easier for people to start the conversations and looking in their own brain.”
