If there's anything that's bound to cheer the public up right now, it's either a royal wedding or a royal baby.
While it doesn't look like there'll be any weddings for the foreseeable future, there will be an adorable bundle of joy to celebrate.
Yes, this morning (September 25) Princess Eugenie of York announced that she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are expecting a little one in early 2021.
She shared the exciting news in an adorably modern post on Instagram, featuring a photo of baby bear slippers from John Lewis and a snap of the happy couple.
While the fluffy slippers are clearly very gender neutral, this hasn't stopped several users from suggested they are a 'hint' that the couple will be having a boy.
One user shared their thoughts on Twitter, commenting: "Hope it goes well for Eugenie and Jack. Colour a hint of a baby boy maybe."
Another on Instagram wrote: "Lovely news your royal highness! Nothing like a baby to bring some happiness into the world. I'll say a boy."
A third said: "Wonderful news. Congratulations. (I call boy!)"
Someone else replied: "Congratulations, is it a boy?"
An announcement about the pregnancy was also shared on the Royal Family's social media accounts.
It read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021.
"The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news."
The couple have been married since 2018, when they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Windsor, attended by a number of celebrity guests including Kate Moss, Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams.
Before their wedding, Eugenie and Jack dated for seven years after meeting on slopes of luxury ski resort Verbier.
Jack popped the question while they were on holiday in Nicaragua, with Eugenie saying she was completely surprised by the proposal.
