Despite taking the lead through Tony Watt's strike, the Perth Saints earned their spot in the quarter final stage with goals from Callum Hendry and David Wotherspoon.

"It was a terrible performance from us and there is no hiding from it," he told Lanarkshire Live Sport.

"It wasn't good enough and we're out of the cup now even though we wanted to go on a good cup run.

"There was a bit of familiarity because we had played them last week, but we had worked all week on what we wanted to do and we didn't do it.

"It's a case of not being a good enough performance on the day.

"We didn't play well and how we found ourselves up 1-0 I don't know, but you want to hold on to that, and they get two quick goals which is disappointing."
