RAPPER YG has been arrested on suspicion of robbery days before he is due to perform at the Grammys.
The rapper, whose real name is Keenon Jackson, was taken into custody after officers got a search warrant for his home in the Chatsworth area of Los Angeles.
YG is expected to perform is section paying tribute to rapper Nispey Hussle, who died last year.
The rapper made his $250,000 bail and was released at about 9pm local time.
YG is from Compton, which is the same area where legendary rappers Dr Dre, Coolio and Kendrick Lamar are from.
He is due to appear in court on Tuesday for arraignment, where he will formally face charges.
Officials in Los Angeles have released any more details about YG's arrest of the alleged robbery.
TMZ reports his house was raided in the early hours of Friday morning.
Fellow rapper The Game tweeted about the arrest saying: "Funny how YG gets arrested the weekend of the Grammys when he's supposed to hit the stage in [Nipsey Hussle's] honour. #LAPDtheBiggestGangHere."
YG's Hollywood Hills home was searched by sheriffs in July in connection with a shooting that killed a bystander.
The rapper was not implicated in the shooting and he was not home at the time of the search, authorities had said.
Police have not said if the shooting and the alleged robbery were connected.
DJ Khaled, John Legend, Roddy Ricch, Kirk Franklin and Meek Mill are also participating in the tribute performance for Nipsey.
