Queen's Hotel to Valbon - 100 years of Hull's Pozition nightclub

Tens of thousands of Hull clubbers and punters have passed through its famous doors, whether it be for a swift half or a night on the town.

But the heady days of Pozition nightclub and the Queen's Hotel that came before are no more.

Over the summer contractors have been demolishing the George Street site after its final revellers came and went back in 2018.

As a club, Pozition welcomed hundreds each and every Thursday and Saturday night during its nineties and noughties heyday but never quite saw that popularity again when it turned into Club Valbon.

The venue was eventually closed for good in 2018, sealing inside almost a century of memories.

It began life as the Queen's Hotel in the 1930s before transitioning to become the Queens pub in the 80s.

While, in its previous life owners were targeting drinkers of all ages, a special focus was put on attracting younger clientle.

One section of the pub was branded as 'Reflections' and provided a designated area for the younger crowd to meet.

The venue will mean very different things to different people but it will forever hold a place in the hearts of thousands in Hull and the East Riding who may have visited once, twice or hundreds of times.
