Humberside Police officers have randomly pulled over motorists in different parts of Hull as part of a new campaign.
The force is embarking on the venture as part of a pre-Christmas warning to drivers not to drink and drive over the festive period.
Officers tweeted to say that police would carry out "stop checks" to drivers and breathalyse them on the spot while sending out the message not to drink and drive.
Humber Roads Beat tweeted: "Officers from team 2 will be in various locations around the force today (Wednesday) carrying out stop checks as part of the Christmas drink drive campaign."
Officers, who accompanied the tweet with a video of the back of their vehicle which reads 'check drink drive', also used the hashtags #notworththerisk #drivinghomeforchristmas as part of their initiative.
As part of the wider initiative, officers will be stopping more drivers across the city and East Yorkshire over the Christmas period.
