A pensioner is in a critical condition in hospital after jumping from a window to escape a fire following an alleged arson attack.
The woman, 83, hurled herself from a window of a property in Lapworth Grove, in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham, at 9.30am on Sunday.
Her injuries are believed to be serious rather than life-threatening.
A man, 52, is also being treated for burns in hospital following the blaze.
Another man, 46, has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
He will be questioned by detectives from West Midlands Police as a probe is launched into the incident.
