BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty has won hearts for her 'outstanding response' to a vile troll.

The journalist was praised for her humour as she dealt with a 'toxic' comment from a Twitter user.

Naga clapped back after a fan shared photos admiring one of her latest looks as she appeared on the breakfast show filmed at MediaCityUK in Salford.

Commenting on the photos the troll wrote scathingly: "Quite frankly, I"d rather someone take a cheese grater to my b**end than go near that poisonous person."

Naga clapped back

Naga shared their tweet with the reply: "Happy to help Shirley."

And she signed off her message with a kiss.

"Leave our national treasure alone!" cried one fan.

"You make me laugh Naga. It’s outrageous the nonsense you have to deal with. Beautiful attitude and humour from you as always," applauded another follower.

She was praised for her humour and attitude

"These keyboard warriors are so dull - I wonder what their bosses would think? You are a legend @TVNaga01," praised another.

Another told her: "Personally I think you're the best dressed person on TV."

Another fan commented: "Nice answer Naga."

Another said: "Outstanding response."

And another asked: "Why!?... just ZERO need to be toxic."

Naga is already proven to be a dab hand at dealing with trolls.

Last year she had fans cheering with her response to some unwarranted criticism about her high heels as she sat on the famous sofa.

One viewer felt compelled to tweet their thoughts and said: "I’m not known for my own sartorial elegance but why would anyone like Naga Munchetty feel the need to wear high-heeled shoes like these on a BBC TV breakfast news programme? Discuss..." they wrote.

Naga, 46, shut them down by replying simply: "Because I want to."

The response was applauded by her supportive followers including ex Welsh rugby captain Gareth Thomas who said: "If I could pull em off then I would deffo wear them!!! Plus she looks amazing, plus so many other things, I’m not understanding this mans point.."

Then in January, as she made her debut as the host of the mid-morning programme on BBC Radio 5 Live, she gave a dignified response to a follower who disapproved of her new role.

Naga wrote: "1st day in a new job @bbc5live tomorrow. 10am to 1pm.

"I get to work with a brilliant team and discuss the stuff in our lives that matter with great guests and listeners. Can. Not. Wait. Hope you can join us. X"

The troll replied: "Rather poke needles in my eyes than listen to you."

And Naga responded with a kiss: "That's dangerous June. I also think it will hurt. X"
