My partner’s ex copies my clothes, my hairstyle and holidays we’ve been on

DEAR DEIDRE: MY partner’s ex copies my clothes, my hairstyle . . . even holidays we’ve been on.

She’s 37 and my partner is 36. I’m a woman of 27. They split up a year before I met him. I like most people and get along with everyone but she is a piece of work.

My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

My friends tell me they have seen her wearing outfits I have worn. They say she’s just jealous but this is wearing me down. She’s even saying I copy her.

We had a week away by the coast and – guess what? – she’s there two weeks later, taking selfies and posting them on social media.

DEIDRE SAYS: She has a bad case of jealousy. She sees you as a younger, attractive woman who has the partner she lost and is enjoying a life she envies.

I understand your frustration but see her as sad rather than irritating.

Be glad you are you and not her. See her copying you as a compliment to your good taste.

Block her on social media. If she crosses a line and you start to feel she is stalking you, get advice from the National Stalking Helpline (, 0808 802 0300).
