My husband spends more time focusing on his cross-dressing than our marriage

MARRIAGE WOES

DEAR DEIDRE: MY doorbell goes almost daily with parcels of female clothes ordered by my husband.

He’s always cross-dressed, but it used to be now and then, which I didn’t mind.

However, since lockdown, he’s got worse and dresses as a woman most days.

We live in an isolated place, so nobody sees him but me.

He’s 55 and I’m 51. He spends more time and energy focusing on this side of himself than on our marriage.

He won’t communicate with me. Our sex life is non-existent and he mentioned separation a year ago, but then changed his mind.

I’m not sure we have a future together.

Get in touch with Deidre today

My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.

DEIDRE SAYS: Deep down he doesn’t want to lose you, but he’s pushing the boundaries to see how far he can go.

You’re not getting anything from your relationship.

He’s not talking, you don’t have sex – so of course you’re questioning your future.

Explain that his cross-dressing has reached a point where it’s consuming all his attention.

Ask him whether he feels you have a future together.

You’ll find support at The Beaumont Society, (beaumontsociety.org.uk, 01582 412 220) who help transsexuals, cross-dressers and their families.
