A royal expert has suggested that Meghan Markle's marriage to Prince Harry showed an "enormous amount of planning".

Royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti said that the former actress grew up with "high ambitions" but maybe had reached them in the acting world.

Sacerdoti also believes that the 39-year-old would have been aware of the impact her marriage to Harry would have.

However the royal expert thinks it is Harry and Meghan's right to use their international exposure to their "advantage".

Speaking to Sky News, he said: "She grew up with, with high ambitions and started to reach them as an actress - putting in the work, obviously not a terribly successful actress in terms of being well known internationally.

"She then married Prince Harry and then she has become probably one of the most known or recognisable names in the world just by marrying somebody.

“I think that shows an enormous amount of planning and ambition.

"I don't mean to be totally unromantic - maybe she did fall in love with Harry, maybe their relationship is also one of partnership and love in that respect.

“But you don't marry into the Royal Family, I think, without knowing what it's going to do to your reputation and your exposure internationally.

“And then I think they've used that to their advantage, many would say it is there is their right.”

Another royal expert has advised Prince Harry to take a leaf out of Edward Vlll’s book and not rush into writing “bitter” memoirs.

While royal expert Anna Pasternak believes that there may well be more "bitterness" to come in the new memoir, she feels that he would be better advised to follow Edward Vlll’s example.

Anna told the Telegraph about the similarities between the Edward Vlll and Harry in the way that they married strong-minded American women and they were important than their royal upbringing.

She said: "However, unlike Harry, who self-exiled from the Royal family 15 months ago, choosing love and family over monarchical duty, the Duke of Windsor waited 15 years before publishing his account of abdicating to marry Wallis Simpson."
