Maura Higgins has shared a photo of a man grabbing her arm in the street, saying that he tried to pull her into a car.

The 30-year-old former Love Island star was leaving a venue with a couple of her friends, following the National Television Awards, when she said an unknown man "harassed" her, with a picture showing her arm trailing behind her as the man grabs her hand.

The TV personality shared a pic of the incident on her Instagram Story, as she urged for more to be done to stop "predatory" men who behave "inappropriately" towards women.

In the first of the two photos that Maura shared, she is passing a car with an open door which the man is standing in front of as he holds the reality star's wrist.

It was captured by a photographer, who was taking snaps of Maura as she left a French restaurant in Mayfair after last week's NTAs.

Maura wrote alongside the first pic: “For people that think this does not happen… I can assure you it does! Here is an image of me leaving a venue after the NTAs - this guy that I have never met in my life grabbed hold of my arm and tried to pull me back towards his car.

"As you can see I am smiling & the reason being is because pictures can be portrayed very differently i.e.. if I was to shout in anger at this guy, the headline might have been ‘Maura gets violent after a night out’ it’s more opportunity for clickbait."

Posting a second pic, in which Maura is seen dismissing the stranger's attempts to hold her, she wrote: "Luckily I had 2 girls walk with me to my car and I would NEVER leave a venue alone at night because of this reason.

"It’s actively predatory, repeatedly violating women’s personal space and boundaries.

"HIs behaviour is completely inappropriate & it’s crucial that we address the issue of street harassment.”

Maura then shared a video of a teen dancer speaking about how she was harassed on her way home from a dance class, forcing her home while on the phone to her dad.

In the video, the teenager explains: "Not to be that girl again, but I’ve literally just walked home from dance and as I was walking home this man started harassing me, he was following me home, he wouldn’t leave me alone. I rang my dad.

"Luckily these three men were behind me, these old men, and they asked if I was alright and they walked with me a bit, so this guy then started on these three men and he just wouldn’t leave me alone, so they tried to back him off a bit while I ran."

She continued: "This is three occasions now that this week that men have either said something to me or harassed me, what gives them the right? I just don’t even have any words. I’m just appalled."

Maura added three mind-blown emojis as a response to the video.
