A man has been arrested after robbing a betting shop while wearing 'flip flops'.
Staff at Betfred, in Halliwell Road, Bolton, were threatened with a knife during the terrifying ordeal on Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses said the man left one of his flip flops at the scene after it fell off as he attempted to flee.
No one was injured during the robbery, which happened at about 11.40am.
Police have not revealed what was taken.
A 29-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody for questioning.
The shop remained open following the incident.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 11.40am today (Thursday 23 January 2020), police were called to reports of an armed robbery at Betfred on Halliwell Road, Bolton.
"Officers attended and have established the offender threatened staff with a knife.
"No injuries have been reported but staff have been left shaken.
"A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody for questioning.
"An investigation is underway.
