Manchester United fans were far from happy with their team's performance on Sunday, dishing out low ratings across the board.

Instead of building upon the galvanising victory over Atalanta in midweek, United completely capitulated when Liverpool visited Old Trafford.

Terrible defending led to the visitor's first goal after just five minutes through Naby Keita and things didn't get any better from there, as Diogo Jota scored the second before Mohamed Salah bagged an excellent hat-trick to compile United's misery.

The manner of the defeat was perhaps even worse than the scoreline itself, which could have been a lot higher than five, as United looked like an unorganised rabble, with no outfielder covering himself in glory.

The only player to have a modicum of pride intact was goalkeeper David de Gea, who couldn't do much for any of the goals and actually made a couple of great saves to keep the scoreline down. United fans rated him the highest on MEN's rating widget, with his average score coming in at 5.2.

Otherwise, there were no bright spots at all but a lot of distinctively bad displays.

The nadir of which may well be Paul Pogba's brief second-half cameo. The Frenchman was introduced at the break and sent off just 15 minutes later for a disgraceful challenge on Keita but before that he managed to get disposed to lead to the fifth goal.

Pogba was rated at 2.4 by fans but, surprisingly, he wasn't the lowest as Harry Maguire actually takes that dubious honour with 2.3.

The captain did not cover himself in glory for any of the goals, especially the first two, and the fantastic form he showed during Euro 2020 has deserted him. Though he still doesn't look completely fit after his return from injury,

Luke Shaw was another player to be rated with a 2, while everyone else, aside from Cristiano Ronaldo, scored a 3.
