The M62 has been closed between Howden and North Cave after a road traffic collision.
Emergency services are at the scene dealing with the incident and the road has now been closed to vehicles travelling eastbound.
"Access via hard shoulder but please reduce speed on the approach to the scene."
Traffic is also slowing down on the westbound carriageway, thought to be caused by drivers slowing down as they pass the incident.
