Liverpool vs Atalanta LIVE: Latest score, goals and updates from Champions League fixture tonight

Follow all the action as Liverpool host Atalanta in the Champions League group stage this evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s side can ensure their place in the knockout rounds with a victory tonight, owing to a perfect run of form in the competition so far. Liverpool edged Ajax in a close-fought opening game before defeating Danish champions FC Midtjylland. The Reds then faced Atalanta earlier this month, dismantling the Serie A side in an imperious 5-0 win that all but secured their place in the last 16.

Atalanta, who reached the quarter-finals last season, still have everything to fight for in the group, though, with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side level second with Ajax. The Italians have enjoyed a steady if unspectacular start to the season domestically, taking 14 points from their opening eight games. Follow all the action below:

Liverpool’s task is simple: beat Atalanta at Anfield and they will qualify with two games to spare.

A draw will be enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side if Ajax fail to defeat Midtjylland, who are playing to keep their hopes of progression alive.

90+4 mins: Full time. Job done for Man City. With that victory they qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League for the eighth season in a row.

It was a tough ask as Olympiacos were steadfast in their defence, often putting 10 men behind the ball. It was an exercise in patience for City and a lovely move of quality from Sterling set up Foden to score the winner.
