Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is determined to make the first ever Premier League winter break a working holiday by training alongside his brother back in Brazil.

With his unbeaten side enjoying a record 22-point lead at the Premier League summit after winning 24 of their 25 games so far this season, manager Jurgen Klopp has allowed his senior squad to take time off during the 14-day gap between their 4-0 win at home to Southampton last Saturday and their trip to Norwich City on February 15.

While the youngest-ever side in Liverpool history defeated League One Shrewsbury Town 1-0 in their FA Cup fourth round replay, the first team regulars – apart from James Milner who cheered on the kids at Anfield having stayed back to work on his recovery from injury – have been relaxing in a series of exotic locations across the globe.

Social media posts showed Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana all in the USA; Gini Wijnaldum has been in Dubai while Alisson's compatriots Roberto Firmino and Fabinho have both taken their wives to the Indian Ocean paradise islands of the Maldives.

But although many of his team-mates have been enjoying a well-earned rest, Alisson, who missed 11 games earlier in the campaign through a calf injury picked up in the 4-1 opening day win over Norwich City, is keeping busy.

Globo Esporte report that the 27-year-old has been training alongside his older brother Muriel, 32, also a goalkeeper at Brazilian Serie A club Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro.

Alisson has claimed he “doesn't want to lose his form.”

The Brazil number one has conceded just six goals in 17 Premier League games so far this season and is joint leader as he looks to retain the Golden Glove – he currently has nine clean sheets along with Dean Henderson and Nick Pope despite the Sheffield United and Burnley men having played 23 and 25 games each respectively.
