Liverpool 2 Chelsea 2 (5-4 pens): Hero Adrian saves Tammy Abraham penalty as Reds win Super Cup shootout

THEY have another hero.

Liverpool, piling on top of back-up keeper Adrian after his save from Tammy Abraham, have collected yet another European trophy.

It took 90 minutes, extra time, then a penalty shootout to add the Super Cup to the Champions League.

They got there in the end.

Adrian, in the Liverpool team because of the injury to Alisson Becker, turned hero when he stuck a leg out to deny Tammy Abraham scoring Chelsea’s fifth.

Poor kid.

He will recover, in time, but this will hurt Chelsea after Jorginho made it 2-2 after 101 minutes.

For a Super Cup, it was a sensational watch.

After Chelsea went in front, Sadio Mane equalised for Liverpool at the stsrt of the second half and then went on to score their second.

This will be tough to take for Frank Lampard.
