Kate Garraway been sent a hopeful message from a fan who told her about author Michael Rosen's incredible recovery from coronavirus after 47 days in intensive care.

The Good Morning Britain presenter's husband Derek Draper, 52, continues to battle for his life in intensive care after being admitted to hospital with coronavirus at the end of March.

Derek, who shares Darcey, 14 and William, 10 with Kate, 53, has been in a coma since mid-April and she has been unable to see him for two months.

Fans of the television presenter have left hopeful messages for the star and shared stories of loved ones recovering after prolonged periods in intensive care.

Kate hasn't been able to see her husband in two months

Some fans pointed out that author and broadcaster Michael Rosen left intensive care after 47 days near the end of May.

"Praying every day for @kategarraway and her family, hoping that her husband will recover as Michael Rosen (author of we're going on a bear hunt) has done after 47 days in intensive care," wrote one hopeful fan.

Another wrote: "I just wanted to tell you that you are a remarkable woman, the strength you and your children have shown over these past few months shows this. I can only imagine how proud Derek would be could he see you fighting along side him. Never give up hope."

Derek is currently battling the virus from intensive care

A third explained that they also had a loved one who had miraculously left intensive care after over two months.

"don’t lose hope. My niece 52 just left ITU after 74 days. 62 in a coma on ventilator. It’s a miracle but proof it does happen. Her turning point was a tracheotosomy.

"Your husband will get through this . He is clearly a fighter and will do it. Thinking of you. X"

Kate and Derek share two children together

As Kate's husband continues to fight against the virus, the television personality has been keeping fans updated on the situation and trying to remain positive.

She has also been a vocal supporter of the Clap For Carers movement and opened up about staying strong for her two young children during the heartbreaking situation.

"Hope has to keep us all going doesn’t it ? I am having to find new ways of staying strong everyday for Darcey & Billy , as I know Derek would want me to," Kate recently shared in an Instagram post.

Michael Rosen recently left ICU after battling the virus for 48 days

Among a number of 'miraculous' cases where people have left intensive care was that of Michael Rosen.

Although the author has not tweeted since late March, his loving wife Emma posted on May 23 that Michael had left intensive care after almost eight weeks.
