Jordan Henderson has warned Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League rivals - we are raring to go after the winter break.
Sadio Mane smashed his 100th goal in English football to break through the Norwich yellow wall in the Reds’ first game for 11 days.
The victory on Saturday night extended Liverpool ’s staggering run to 34 top flight wins from their last 25 games.
Henderson said: “The amount of games we play means it is good to rest the body and the brain, especially when there are competitions in the summer as well.
“You can’t stop completely, you can’t do that. You don’t stop training as such but it is more the mental side, keeping training but getting refreshed mentally. It is about getting the break and being ready for that final push of the season.”
On a windy evening, bottom club Norwich were proving a tough nut to crack for Jurgen Klopp's team but Mane, who came on as a substitute on the hour, pounced to drill home a fine finish from inside the area in the 78th minute.
It was his first appearance since going off injured in Liverpool's win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 23 and he marked it by claiming a 100th goal in English football.
And Henderson put the victory over Norwich down to hard work, adding: "We've had a good break and a week's training as well.
"We knew it would be difficult coming here even though they are bottom of the league. Overall I thought it was a good performance."
Klopp’s men, now 25 points clear at the top, go to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday before hosting West Ham on Monday week.
Henderson added: “I don’t look at [the lead]. I just look at the next game.
"That is what is important and that is Atletico, which will be a really big test for us going over there, but one we are looking forward to.
"We have to just go there and give everything, like we always do.”
