DEAR DEIDRE: I HAVEN’T seen my little girl for two years. She’s seven now, but her mum and I split up before she was born.
I always wanted to get back with my daughter’s mother, but she was having none of it. I’m 32 and my ex is now 30.

My team and I are working safely from home but we are here to help you as always.
At first she allowed me to see my daughter at the weekends, until I found someone and let her meet my little girl.
My ex has introduced four different men to our child – but now she won’t let me be around her because of my partner of two years.
I got legal advice but they said that unless I want to pay thousands in solicitors’ fees, I’d best wait until my daughter decides for herself that she wants to see me.
DEIDRE SAYS: This is so sad. Your ex isn’t thinking about your daughter’s need for two loving parents.
If you are confident this relationship is going to last, ask your ex to reconsider and put your daughter’s feelings before her own.
Talking it through will help but if this is difficult, ask her to come for family mediation with you.
My e-leaflet When Parents Fall Out explains how this can help.
