Hull FC’s Manu Ma’u looks set to miss the next month of Super League action after picking up a knee injury.
The back-rower made his debut for the club on Sunday against Leeds Rhinos and impressed in the win at Headingley, but unfortunately he strained his MCL ligament, the club have confirmed.
As such, not only will he miss the derby against Hull KR this weekend, he’s expected to miss the next four or five weeks of action, meaning he'll also miss clashes with St Helens, Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons.
The Black and Whites will also be without another new signing for the next few weeks. Joe Cator injured his hamstring in the build-up to FC’s opening game of the season and is expected to have to wait for up to a month before he’ll be fit enough to make his debut for his boyhood team.
Gareth Ellis will also miss this week’s game against Rovers. He’s picked up an ankle injury, but it isn’t expected to keep him out of action for more than a week or two.
