Home and Away star Ben Unwin was found dead at his home at the age of just 41.

The actor was best known for playing Jesse McGregor in the soap from 1996 to 2000 and again from 2002 to 2005.

His death is not being treated as suspicious, The New South Wales Police Force said last night.

Ben's body was found on August 14 but his cause of death has not yet been revealed.

A spokesperson said: "Police attended Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare.

"The body of a 41-year-old man was located. The death has not been treated as suspicious."

Ben's performance as Jesse scored him a Logie nomination in 1997 for Most Popular New Talent.

He was also nominated for a National Television Award in the UK in the same year.

Jesse was known for getting into trouble with the law and even had a stint in jail after he was accused of burning down Alf Stewart's Bait Shop for insurance money.

Ben left acting and was working a senior solicitor in Newcastle, New South Wales, before his death.
